NATURAL BODY BUTTER
Hi every one, i know we all wondering ..and no this isn't cake neither is it frosting but my very second body butter come to life. lol @ 'come to life'
what is body butter? - its plain and simple lotion
i have always being a lover of natures gifts and blessings and when i came across this home made body butter, i was soo interested.
And yes, i didn't just start with making use of this butters.... i dumped all other lotions 5 years ago and i have never looked back.
why? well on the West side of Africa (Nigeria), temperature is humid and hot most times and using these well-known moisturizers from stores on my dry skin was not helping at all.
Once i start moisturizing before am done, i am soaked from head to toe in my own sweat.
'the ministry cant move like this eee'.
These body butters are free from preservatives, parabens and all kinds of chemicals i just cant spell or pronounce..hehehe
any way i started using our own 'ori' shea butter and mixing with different plant oils - coconut oil, almond and the likes.
i have got to admit its really tough finding these oils here in Nigeria..but love drives me ..hehehe
'if you see me when i dey waka for market eh you go fear ...lol'
ok, i am rambling lets get this recipe out..
Homemade Butter with Shea and Coconut
Ingredients
1 cup Shea Butter
1 Tbsp Coconut oil
1 tsp Mustard seed oil
Essential oil of your choice (i used sandal wood) for it to have a nice fragrance.
Combine all ingredients together in a bowl- due to the hot weather conditions here, i did not need to warm the butter or the oils.
start beating with a hand mixer. mix or beat for a few more minutes say 30 - 45 minutes or until it is fluffy and feels light to touch.
once its fluffy its all set, place in a glass jar.
NOTE:
Glass jars are better to use than the plastic containers- this is to reduce the presence of chemicals( polyethylene and the likes)that are cancer causing because plastics tend to shed gradually with time.
Also homemade butters have no side effect on the health of any one using it. instead it is beautifully packed with anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and healing properties
It would feel greasy but do not be sacred, it is quickly absorbed
it can also be used on the hair and
it saves cost...this one is lovely
there it is....yipee let me know what you think......
